The preschool is an integrated program serving children 3 to 6 years old from the school districts of Tiffin, Seneca East, Old Fort and Hopewell-Loudon.

The Family Learning Center was formed by the cooperative efforts of the Seneca County Board of Developmental Disabilities, Vanguard-Sentinel Career & Technology Center, WSOS/Head Start, the North Central Ohio Educational Service Center, Seneca County Family & Children First Council and the Seneca County Community Resource for Kids.

Children with special needs are educated in a very unique environment. The Family Learning Center is housed in the Sentinel Career and Technology Center, 797 East Township Road 201 in Tiffin. The Help Me Grow (ages 0-3) and Integrated Preschool (ages 3-6) wing is especially designed and outfitted with your child’s safety and security in mind:

  • Handicap accessibility to all rooms
  • Secured locations with push button access
  • Playground that meets all licensing specifications
  • Classrooms with two exit doors
  • Preschool-sized bathrooms in every classroom
  • Extensive adaptive equipment (seating, bicycles, swings, communications devices)
  • Comprehensive air conditioning and ventilation system that affects every part of the building.

We welcome parent involvement as much as possible. You are encouraged to take part in the various family activities held throughout the year. Your child’s classroom teacher will also make a home visit during the school year to discuss your child’s progress and answer any questions you have.
